Willie J. hasn't made mountains of progress but little stepping stones but to me those stepping stones are huge mountains. . He is moving his hands a little more everyday. His feet have begun to move a tiny bit now. He is definitely awake moving his head following people as they move; he turns to you if you call his name. He hasn't made any attempt to speak, he just looks at you. He still has a teach (that could be why he hasn't tried to speak) and a PEG (hole in his stomach to feed him through). They are giving him a lot, lot; lot of blood pressure medicine to make sure that Aortic tear doesn't rupture any further. His muscles have atrophied from being in bed for 2.5 months so they are suppose to be starting PT with him this week. When you ask him questions he doesn't always respond to you, meaning with "squeeze my hand if...” We are working with him and doing range of motion exercises with his hands, so his hands are moving more than anything.
