There's this speaking in tongues frenzy that goes on in my campus.
I met this guy one day as I was reading for my exams. He walked up to me and introduced himself to me, over the next weeks we kinda became friends. One day, he asked me if I spoke in tongues. I plainly told him no. He then asked if I was born again, I told him yes. He then challenged me. It became a debate/argument which I won with Bible verses.
Unknowingly to me, the next day he went to report me to his pastor. The pastor asked to see me. I respect men of God so I agreed to meet him. That's how preaching, prayer and laying of hands started. No tongue was coming out of my mouth. I just started pleading the blood of Jesus on myself with all the laying of hands, on my head and tummy, that was going on.
To buy the long story short, nothing came out that night, the man of God said it was because I was 'reserved'. He said I should give it time. I stylishly cut off from my new tongue speaking friend.
I still don't speak in tongues and I don't go out when they ask for those who don't speak in tongues.
I truly hear the Holy Spirit speak to me so I know I'm born again and I've never been convicted about this tongues in my heart.
