Hi everyone! I need an advice. There's this my cousin who lived with us since she was 4. She's been with us for 16 years so she's more like a baby sister to me cuz i dont have any sister just brothers. I'm getting married pretty soon and i asked my best friend to be my chief bride's maid cuz she had been a strong pillar in my r/ship. After i got engaged, i called my sis and told her. she was ecstatic. When i came home on friday, (i dont work near my parents home so i come home only on weekends and public holidays), as soon as she saw me she started saying how she has already started checking chief bride's maid's dresses and she even googled duties of a chief bride's maid. I told her that i already told my best friend to do it. She just looked at me for some time & went to her room. I felt bad so i went to meet her. She locked her door and was crying. She said when we were much younger i promised her that she'd be my CBM when i get married. Sincerely i cant recall when i did that. Anyway, i noticed she became withdrawn the following day saturday. My mum noticed it and scolded her that she should stop being childish that i had a right to give it to whom i pleased. I'm guessing it hurt her more. I confided in my best friend, she being a very understanding person told me that for the sake of peace, i should allow my sis do it so i told her that i'm sorry for what happened on friday and that she should do me the honour of being my CBM. She told me a blatant no. i was shocked. She just rudely said she's no longer interested. As i was trying to inquire why, she walked out on me. I was so angry cuz i'm older than her in good 5yrs. What gave her the guts to do that? She has never done that before. This morning when i was preparing to leave for work, i overheard her telling someone on the phone that she may not even attend the wedding that how can i even consider an outsider over her. I have been so angry since. Should i confront her or just leave her alone? Cuz i'm really getting sick and tired of all this immature drama. I dont get why she's overrreacting.
