I recently had a baby and when it was time for me to resume work, so I decided to get someone to help watch the baby at home. Someone recommended a young girl to me. I was to help her register to write WAEC, among other things, so I brought her into my home to help me.

Two weeks ago I returned from work to find my baby alone, messed up in her poo. The girl was nowhere to be found. When I checked, I realised she had packed her things and ran away, leaving my baby alone for God knows how long. I was upset but I was also worried about her safety so I called her father and I also called the person who recommended her. Nobody knew where she was.

This girl is seventeen so I knew that as a naive girl, she was vulnerable.

The next day, I went to see her father. I know I should not have gone with my baby but I didn't think of anything wrong at that time. I had done nothing to this girl and I was focused on finding her. When I got there with my baby, I found out that some youth in the community had gathered along with her parents and grandparents. They threatened me and gave me two days to find their child. They even told me to give them money to help find the girl.

When I left that place I went to church and cried to God. I thought of how serious the whole thing could be. It was unsettling. While in church, the person who recommended the girl called me. She said the girl’s father wanted to speak with me.

The man said the girl had been found, that she ran to a church where she was helped by a stranger. I was relieved.

Later, I found out that all this time, this girl had been in her father's house. She was in the house that day when I went to her village and got threatened. Apparently, the lady who recommended her suspected what could be happening and called her father to plead on my behalf.

I felt bad and guilty that I put my baby at risk for absolutely nothing

Permitting your daughter to work at a bar, club or brothel is the greatest disservice you can ever do to them as a parent or guardian. You are only setting them up to be targets and preys for a world already shrouded in darkness and a system designed to exploit them. G!rls into nightlife and high social life, mirror selfies from hotel rooms, shisha puffing, updating locations on fleek. I put this to you, NO GIRL working in such environments can outsmart men’s mercurial cunning. If she’s out ...

After less than four years of marriage, I left my controlling husband and knew I’d done the right thing. We have a toddler and, recently, when he visited me to see our daughter, he told me he was going to marry again. It felt as if he was leaving me behind. Sadly, I haven’t been able to move on. I still wear my wedding ring and one of our wedding pictures is still on display in my flat, and I’ve never had another relationship. why am I wasting my life?...

I am Digidi Dunhill from Orlu, Imo State. I have been a single father for 11 years. Honestly, it hasn’t been a rosy experience. My ex-wife and I had misunderstandings and decided to separate. Initially, we considered splitting the kids between us, but we realised that dividing them might affect their bond as brothers. So, I decided to take custody of all the children. My ex-wife isn’t a bad person. The recent interview circulating everywhere portrayed her as neglectful, but that’s not true...

I got married over a year ago after being with my partner for just six months. He is over 10 years older and wanted to get married because he wanted a family as soon as possible. But I didn’t get pregnant, even after fertility treatment. My husband’s sperm count is a bit low, but not as low as not to make me pregnant. However, the problem now is that I’ve realised I’m no longer in love with him, and I think it’s wrong to have a baby if there’s no love left....

Hi. I need help in addressing this issue. My husband and I work at the same place. Recently I have been hearing roamers that he is going out with one lady at our workplace. I called him and asked him and he just brushed it off jokingly. Recently I have noticed the lady calls him when he is off. Break time at work I see both of them together talking and laughing and at times I even pass by them without saying anything. Also this lady when she sees me alone , she frowns her face at me as if she ha...
