My dearie, both conotes emotional states. But they r different in the sense that, Love is that virtue that permeates all forms of emotional feelings while passion is geared towards a particular thing or quality you perceive in the other person which may eventually fade away someday. In a nutshell, passion is one of the numerous elements of Love.
