The artist you know today as JaBOO Shytype was actually christianed Desmond Onoja Agbo and he is from Benue State, Nigeria. He was born in Ibadan Oyo State. He was born into a polygamous home. He is the seventh child of a family of twelve. His father is a retired soldier. JaBOO lived most of his life in the barracks-Dodan Barracks Obalende Ikoyi Lagos.
JaBOO did his pry education at Dodan Barracks Pry School Obalende Ikoyi Lagos and also went to Wahab Folawiyo High School Osborn Ikoyi Lagos, GSS Otukpo and St Josephs College Ugbokolo for his secondary education respectively. He is running his HND in Business Administration in Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech). He currently works with a new generation bank.
He had his fair share of challenges while growing up, as growing up in the barracks was not easy for him and his siblings. He had to hawk groundnut after school hour to keep up with the welfare of the family.He did this right from his pry school till junior secoundary school level.
The name 'JaBU" is a Ndelala name in South Africa which means "be happy" or ‘joy” while "shytype" is a part of his character that is really shy. He always want to be a happy boy.
He started doing music way back in 2002. JaBOO had a stint with the St Joseph's Catholic Church Choir in Dodan Barracks Obalende Lagos. He went for talent competition with friends like Puaman, General Pype and Ben Foster.
JaBOO sees music as a way of life. Expressing life's issues like break up and make up, love, relationships, hardship, success, struggle and redemption.
He gets his inspirations from God, His environment, his wishes and the future. He is an advocate of seeing the cup half full (Optimist).
