Gunmen Kill Groom Just Hours After Wedding in Kano.

There would be no “happy ever after” for bride Siliya whose groom was killed by unknown assasains, only hours after a wedding.

According to reports, Alhaji Lawan Kofar Dawanau, the 47-year-old newlywed and staff of the Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State was shot dead shortly after the Zuhr prayer.

Eye witnesses say the assailants had stormed the quarters on a motorcycle, taking a female guest hostage and using her to force their way into the wedding ceremony.

Upon their arrival, reports said, the groom came outside when one of the gunmen identified and shot him, a source told reporters.

The Leadership reported that the gunmen had asked those around to remain calm as they had come there on a mission, warning that anyone who got in the way would get shot.

Kano State police PRO Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the incident and promised that an investigation into the killing was underway.
