A boy and a girl fell in love when then were teenagers. They are two love birds just like Romeo and Juliet. Then when they have come to the age when the were matured enough to get married, this GENOTYPE issue came up.............. They went for complete blood test every other things were ok..... except that their GENOTYPE is ''AS'' for both of them.
Now the girl started panicking, although both of them agreed after the blood test to proceed on the marriage no matter the circumstance. But after her graduation........She called the boy to tell him that the marriage will not work out because their GENOTYPE did not match.
Now my questions are 1: Should GENOTYPE become a barrier to marriage 2: Should true love be replace with GENOTYPE 3: Is it a solid excuse or flimsy excuse not to get married because of GENOTYPE Issue.
This is a serious issue and a real fact but I don't want to use names or where it happened........Please I need ur view regards to this as it could be a great assistance to someone out there.

Is not an issue of finding a replacement. AS + AS is a risk and every body knws that. If this marriage will go on the children might end up SS and nobody want to suffer or suffer them.

From my little knowledge, I realised that AS + AS gives u the preveledge of Kids of these category = AA, AS, AS, SS.
So, what's wrong with having at most 2 or 3 kids 4rm the above category?
And again, the post reads that there was an assurance that the Marriage would proceed against all odds, only for her to change her mind after graduation. C'om, don't u smell a rat?

Genotype is a very important factor to consider before going into a marriage. It is more dangerous when one is AS and the other is SS - in that case, it is not advisable to get married. AA and AS can marry each other without any fear. AS and AS could be risky and it is also possible that the first offspring could be AA - that can only happen when both of them give A and A, but in a situation where one gives A and other S, the offspring could be AS and the child will live a normal life. But if they are unlucky and they both give S and S, then there would be trouble with the offspring because his/her genotype will definitely be SS (one with Sickle Cell Anaemia problem - sicklier). At the same time, is very possible that they can have all their children without any problem.
In these peoples' case, I don't think genotype was the reason why the girl debunked the marriage, it is simply because, while in school, SHE HAD FOUND ANOTHER GUY, who she think is better than the guy in question - that is girls for you.
And for the guy, that is not the end for him, it means that the girl is not even good enough for him to be with in life. In life, there is always a special one for everybody. With time he will find that person because it is obvious that the girl in question is not one for him!

Most of our parents does not go for genotype test.......in fact many of our parents does not even know their genotype... But its scarce to see SS child...... Now that the same civilization and technology that made us to understand the disadvantage also made us to understand that it can be detected if a baby will be SS just within two weeks a woman conceived. ..............Why is it still a paramount issue to some??

It's a very difficult decision for As to mary As. But would one because of love ready to take a nasting decision of sacrificing innocent child out of every one to fourth cild. I think it would be better to call such relationship off than to regret it later in future, although it might not be that easy but there is a limit to wish love can take when it comes to the issue of life and death concerning child bearing.
