Prof. Ango Abdullahi, the Chairman of the governing council of the Bauchi State University had a shock of his life when he paid a visit to the management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, in Abuja, last week.
He was briefed that only 17 out of 18,000 students that sat for WAEC and NECO in Gombe state, passed the examination. ... Abdullahi said, "I sat with the governor and we were really belly-aching about the state of secondary education and he confessed to me that they forwarded 18,000 students for NECO and WAEC examinations but only 17 got university (admission) qualification."
The news is not different from the pass rate in the same examination for Yobe, Bauchi and Borno state students. Some scholars attributed this high failure rate to the scarcity of qualified teachers and poor condition of learning.

17 out of 18,000 students but if na to go suicide mission,or to kill people,you so see them well. They no even get better class room,how they want take get class room when them don bomb all the governments structures,schools and markets,now their class room na inside bush how they want take sabi book in that kind of environment.

Hahahahahaha, Na only to bomb and to kill innocent life that is what all Aboki Sabi, they don't no any other thing, and look at the life over there, when the NYSC members that could help to tutor the student where been killed and do you respect the student to pass exams? don't you know that if not because of this there killings NYSC will help to tutor them more and they can make good results.
