African parents esp. In U.S that dont teach their kids their native tongue. And we all know the children of today is the adults of tomorrow. If you dont teach your child the native tongue, Our languages will start to go extinct.
I 'm in U.S and I see African kids, esp Nigerian kids that cant "speak" it but they understand when they "hear" it. Or they only know how to say a few words like "hello."  Tongue Most African parents have adpated to speaking english to their kids since theyre surrounded my english speaking ppl.
I came to U.S when I was two and I can still speak my native language better than my older brothers.  Cool

I agree with you...it's scary, especially when you hear that your language may soon go extinct( and by "your language," I'm referring to my own personal language, Igbo). That's something parents of today need to work on...seriously.

please keep it up speaking ur mother tongue, am too proud of u  ,. that alone shows how u can move nigeria forward in future,
it is rediculous indeed when parents choses not to teach to their kids the vernacular of their origine, pple must keep boosting aside and let these kids abroad learn their mother tongue ,i will teach ma kids igbo, pigin  so they can mixt up when they come back to nigeria

You are right, parents from India, Mexico, China, and Saudi Arabia are so proud of where
they are from , they gladly communicate with their kids in their native language openly.
