Two lovers reportedly die in bed

Nsukka – Two lovers have reportedly died in bed at Obukpa in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

An eye-witness who identified himself as Mr Cyril Adonai, said on Tuesday that neighbours raised the alarm after series of knocking on the door of the deceased, and after calling his phone without response.

`When the door was opened, the boy and the girl were found naked and dead on the bed.

`The police were immediately called in and they removed the corpses to Bishop Shanahan Hospital,’’ the witness said.

According to him, the young lovers were planning for marriage.

Adonai said the cause of their death might have arisen from fumes from the generating set which the deceased moved inside the room before they slept off.

`As at 2 a.m. on Sunday night, that generator was on and there were white foams in their mouths, an indication that they might have inhaled a dangerous gas,’’  he said.

The Police DPO at Nsukka, Mr Jacob Muri confirmed the incident, adding that details of the report were being expected.
