An assistant resident pastor, Mr. David Idunuoluwa, working with Living Faith International Church , a.k.a. Winners’ Chapel, has been shot dead in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Idunuoluwa was killed by a gang of four men on Wednesday around 8:30pm.
Until his murder, Idunuoluwa was with Living Faith International Church along Ikot Edido, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to a member of the church, Idunuoluwa had left the church around 6 pm and drove in his car to the Ibom International Airport, hoping to pick his wife who had just returned from Jerusalem.
The killers were said to have trailed the couple from the airport down to Uyo, the state capital, where they blocked their car and shot at the pastor severally.
Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen shot at him on the head, took some of the items the wife brought from Jerusalem and took to their heels.
Also, gunmen killed two persons along the University of Uyo , Ikpa road, at about 8:15pm on Wednesday.
Though, the identity of the victims could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Maaji, confirmed the incidents.
“They shot some people along Ikpa road but nothing was taken fom them. For Idunuoluwa, it is true but no arrest has been made so far. We are still on the trail of those that killed him,” Magaji said.
The killing of Idunuoluwa and two others had increased to four the number of persons gunmen killed between December 31, 2010 and January 20, 2011.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Thursday paraded six suspected killers of the House of Assembly aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Joseph Akpanakpudo.
Akpanakpudo was reportedly shot dead on the New Year’s Eve in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The deceased, until his death, was seeking Peoples Democratic Party’s ticket for the Mkpat Enin State Constituency.
Parading the suspect at the police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan-Abia, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Magaji, said that the suspect had confessed to killing Akpanakpudo along Nwaniba Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on December 31, 2010.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the suspects, Emmunuel Akpan, told THE PUNCH that one of his friends, called Bigboy killed Akpanakpudo.
Akpan said, “I struggled for the gun with Bigboy not to shoot the man but in the process he pulled the trigger and shot him after which we ran away. I don’t know the man will die. I don’t even know the man. It is Bigboy that called me to carry him on a bike.”
The suspect claimed that nobody contracted them to kill the medical doctor, adding that he never knew Bigboy had a gun while they were on a motorbike.
Other people paraded by the police were, Uduak Effiong, Unyime Okon, Nnamnso Effiong, Lawrence Joe, and a female, Salome Browson.
The police boss said that the command was currently on the trail of the fleeing kingpin, Bigboy.
Shortly after the murder of Akpanakpudo, the police arrested six political stalwarts from Mkpat Enin State Constituency. They are currently facing trial over the murder of the medical doctor.

Thank God this killers have killed the wrong person for then killing a pastor is the end of their life and generation not anyhow pastor but from Winners Chapel they have stepped on the Vipers tail so will they be beaten by the viper. Goodluck as u all die MR KILLERS.

lol Did you read before you post this comment? The Pastor is dead. The viper tail is Satan and the murders belongs to Satan. Now killing a pastor is not the end of the killers life but it is the end of the life of the pastor. When we are called and chosen by the Lord to do his work and start walking in DISOBEDIENCE expect anything to happen. I am sorry for the Pastor because he never get to repent. If he was living an obedient life then the Lord would have shown him that he has danger around him. Then the Lord would have told him what to do.
A lot of times I read you guys writing and because of your ignorance to what our Lord and Savior offers to us in Obedience you talk nonsense. Deut 28 and Isaiah 27 let us know about our Protection from the enemies. Hugs and blessings

You are foolish! If this Pastor did repent then his killers would never have gotten the upper hand. Didn't you see King Hezekiel was going to be dead when he repent and cried out to the Lord and the Lord gave him 15 more years on his life.
