At least four persons including two girls lost their lives on Monday evening at Ubima, Rivers State when gunmen suspected to be on revenge mission, opened fire on vehicles plying the major road in the community.
Several others including drivers and passengers also sustained various degrees of injury in the incident that occurred at about 5.45p.m.

The affected vehicles and their passengers were said to have been caught in some potholes at a section of the road.
It was gathered that as they meandered through the potholes that dot the road in the outskirts of the community some armed youths emerged from the nearby bush and shot indiscriminately at the vehicles from opposite directions.
In the process, drivers of some of the vehicles were shot, thereby forcing their vehicles to a stop and some of the passengers either shot dead or wounded.

Narrating the incident, one of the travellers, Mr. Deckland Awaji, whose driver was seriously wounded, told Daily Sun that he was returning from his village in neigbouring Imo State when they ran into the hoodlums.
Mr. Awaji, an engineer who helped to convey the two dead girls to a nearby hospital said the gunmen shot sporadically at vehicles during which his SUV Jeep was damaged and his driver shot at his hand and ankle.
“They (gunmen) came out from the bush and were shooting at every vehicle and my car and two commercial buses were among those affected. The girls were from the buses.”

He said they later gathered from the villagers that a member of the killer gang was shot dead the previous day.
“People suspected that they were on a revenge mission from the way they shot at the vehicles.”
Mr. Awaji whose injured driver is receiving treatment at a private clinic in Port Harcourt, confirmed that many persons also sustained injuries.
Although reports from the incident hinted of four casualties, he said he was only aware of the two bodies he conveyed to the hospital.
About a month ago, a similar attack was recorded in the same route in which some armed men in a commando style, reportedly opened fire at unsuspecting travellers.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Dr. Rita Inoma-Abbey (SP) was said to be attending a meeting when Daily Sun contacted her office on the attack.

This is a clear act of TERRORISM.
The PPRO was attending meeting to come up with a lie to convince people that the hoodlums will soon be apprehended. Right!

One thing is that all Nigerians knows that Nigeria as a Nation has NO police rather we have criminals in Uniform in the name of police
they only kill and steal the properties of the masses they surpose to protect. May God Pay  All the bad Nigerian Police the way He paid Pharaoh and his armies since they dont want us to enjoy the good things in Nigeria ...................... AMEN.

May be there are few who are educated, but i don't think an educated person will associate themselves in such an unlawful act, that is so mean n they can't impose their burdens on other people who knew nothing about them....and the Government can't do anything about that right?...man Nigeria...we will get there thogh.
