M for your Mama, P for your PAPA

M.P. aka Mastaplan was born Brent Gbadebo on the 31st of March 19// and raised in Iperu, Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, to a polygamous family with his father (from Ogun State) having 13 wives and 40 children. M.P. also has four brothers and one sister on his mother¹s side that is originally from Trinidad & Tobago. After living in Lagos and Delta for a while M.P. later moved to Kano where he stayed from 1996 to 2001. It was at a house party in Kano that M.P. met JJC one fated night in 1998. Luckily, a couple of years later, in 2001, MP had the opportunity to travel to England. Upon arriving he called JJC and was told about an African hip-hop project he was about to start working on. Before long M.P.was introduced to the other members of 419 Squad and work on the Atide album started. The African fusion of hip-hop, R¹n¹b, Salsa and hip life (later to be coined Afropean music) immediately attracted M.P. Just like JJC, M.P. is not afraid to experiment musically when he believes in something. His favourite JJC & 419 Squad track is Majaye. Due to a lot of personal issues within the 419-squad camp, M.P.has decided to take his music to the next level by doing his own thing. Currently, he is signed to a new label formed alongside his side-kick and producer Dap-C and they are currently working on his forthcoming album titled No dull yourself, which also boasts of production credits from Dap-C and JJC. The first set of singles off the album is titled Jangrova and No dull yourself which are already doin well in Nigeria
