The Omni San Diego has an outdoor heated swimming pool, a whirlpool and a double-sided fireplace. McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, just off the lobby of the Omni San Diego, has 30+ varieties of fresh seafood (serves breakfast, lunch and dinner). I was especially impressed with the breakfast buffet, which included fresh-squeezed orange juice, an omelet station with cage-free eggs, fresh berries, hormone-free sausage and bacon, organic cereals, Tea Forte and Starbucks coffee. McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant also has outdoor seating, so you can take advantage of the beautiful San Diego weather. Baseball fans: ask at the front desk for a guide to the hotel's memorabilia, including a baseball autographed by Mickey Mantle, the bat Pete Rose used to break Ty Cobb's record in 1985, and Babe Ruth's 1923 contract with the Yankees. The hotel is co-owned by Padres owner John Moores, and the baseball memorabilia is from his private collection. Pictured are Joe DiMaggio's cleats, worn in 1941 during his 56-game hitting streak for the New York Yankees.
