HISTORY OF AKAYCENTRIC
AkayCentric who hails from Epetedo, lagos state is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and award winning artiste. He majors in RnB and Afropop. His awards include Nigeria Teens Award choice for best male artiste of the year 2017 and Choice fast rising act 2018, He was formerly known as ‘AKAY’ until 2017 when it was changed to “AKAYCENTRIC.” He discovered his talent at an early stage when he joined his Church choir. He was born on the 8th of February, and christened as Akinola Olumuyiwa Oshodi. He is the second son and third child of Colonel E. Oshodi and Mrs. Adewunmi Oshodi.
He had his primary school at Command children school, Jaji, Kaduna state from 1995 to 2001, also his secondary education at Command day secondary school Ikeja, and Topmost International secondary school, Ipaja from 2001 to 2008. He had his tertiary education at the Lagos State University, Ojo where he graduated with double honors in Accounting and education and also has a degree in music at the music institute called “Tenstrings Music Institute.”
He started his music career in year 2010 and had his first single collaboration with renowned artiste “Ice prince” titled Addicted. He is currently signed to an International entertainment company Monkey Media House {MMH}. He has collaborations with reputable singers like “Fiokee, Runtown, Ice prince, late Nomoreloss, and lots more.” He has also worked with important personalities like Late Tosyn Bucknor, spells, delb, ekelly, patoranking, Password, Suka sounds, Mrs. Smart and Eddie Lawani. He was also featured on the next big thing 2014 by ynaija magazine.
His music includes ‘Addicted’ featuring Ice prince in 2010, ‘Baby’ in 2012, ‘Loving you’ in 2014, ‘Parachute’ in 2015, ‘After all, Mamma mia and Shotan’ in 2017, and many songs yet to be released. He has had performances at the Lagos countdown 2014, Mr. and Miss Nigeria International 2015, Most Beautiful Girl Lagos, 2016 {MBGL} and lots more.
