Unveiling the Maestro Behind the Beats- Temitope Lawal-aka- 333riller
Working alternately as a crafted alter ego, whereby, Temitope writes songs, but only 333riller can infuse them with that irresistible pop. While Temitope can be reserved, 333riller remains the vibrant force. As the Yoruba would say, "okunrin Meta.", Music is his canvas, and 333riller, is simply the trinity.
*
Merica Entertainment welcomes, Temitope Lawal, as he shares his fascinating music journey and the essence he embodies!
*
Merica: Since Music is your canvas; how did you first wield the brush, and what shades do you splash across the sonic spectrum?
Temitope Lawal: My parents did something adorable; they named all their children with names starting with 'T,' including themselves. So, I toyed with various names like Tboy, Tee, T-lawax before settling on Triller. Initially, I spelled it as Triller and even released some songs under that name. But whenever I searched it online, all I saw was Michael Jackson, too big a name to contend with. So, I swapped the 'T' for my birth date, 3, and thus became 333riller, and the rest, as they say, is history.
*
Merica: Collaboration often strikes the sweetest chords. Were there any sonic architects whose harmonies resonated deep within your core?
Temitope Lawal: Nobody paved the way for me; instead, the Afrobeat of the 2000s served as my artistic pillar. If you're an Afrobeat lover, you know the feeling when that "Gongo Aso" intro hits.
*
Merica: The future is an open stage; which luminaries do you dream of sharing its spotlight with?
Temitope Lawal: My goal is simple: to etch my name, my brand, and my music onto the map.
*
Merica: As your opus unfolds, where do you envision the crescendo of your symphony?
Temitope Lawal: Honestly, I'm currently laser-focused on creation. It's all about the present moment for me. My next song has to surpass the last, and my EP must epitomize my essence and brand. No distractions; it's a marathon we're running here, not a sprint. And when we reach the victory lap, we'll celebrate.
*
Merica: The symphony of inspiration is boundless; from which realms do you draw your muse?
Temitope Lawal: I'll relate this question to my next single, boldly stating that my muse stems from my African queens—the ones Tunde Ednut would bless Africa for, you know?
*
Merica: Every musician has their muse; who are the guiding stars illuminating your sonic voyage?
Temitope Lawal: I thought I just answered that; God bless Africa.
*
Merica: Amidst the symphony of your career, can you share a moment that reverberates as deeply fulfilling?
Temitope Lawal: The reception to my last release reaffirmed what I've always known: I'm made for this, and you'll see that sooner rather than later.
*
Merica: Like any symphony, there are moments of silence. What melancholic notes have you encountered on your journey thus far?
Temitope Lawal: When my music spreads like wildfire, infecting everyone like a common cold. Performing my songs in front of people I've never met but who know me solely through my music—that's the dream.
*
Merica: The stage is a theatre, and sometimes it plays tricks. Have there been any comedic interludes in your symphony of performance?
Temitope Lawal: Everything about me breathes music, and there's nothing else I know or am good at aside from music. Someone once asked me if I'd still pursue music if it didn't pay, and my response was simple: isn't that what I'm doing right now?
*
Merica: Success is the crescendo of every musician's journey. How do you define the zenith of your melodic odyssey?
Temitope Lawal: No sugar-coating here; the sky's the limit. As I said in my last song, when you see me now, snap a picture with me because it's about to be a blockbuster.
*
Merica: Music is the elixir of life. How has its intoxicating embrace enriched your existence?
Temitope Lawal: Yes, my family, God, and discipline.
*
Merica: As the curtains rise on the next act of your symphony, what grand crescendos do you envision on the horizon?
Temitope Lawal: First and foremost, there's no music like African music. Every sound, every genre traces its roots back to Africa. Now, the Nigerian entertainment industry is at the forefront, crafting our own narrative and showcasing our prowess to the world.
*
Merica: Every melody has its chorus of supporters. Were your family the backing vocals to your overture?
Temitope Lawal: On a serious note, if I weren't pursuing music, I'd prefer to stay out of the public eye—just one of those guys on Instagram with a single picture on their account. Maybe I'd attend church more, like my ex wanted.
*
Merica: Finally, as the composer of your own destiny, how would you orchestrate the sonnet of your personality in a single refrain?
Temitope Lawal: Nothing worthwhile comes easy. If you want it easy, you don't deserve it; you're just lazy.
