Meet Joan Ekpai. A real triple-treat, Singer, songwriter, and sound engineer. We first took notice of Joan when she appeared on the maiden edition of “West African Idols”. Her strong, energetic deliveries captured the hearts of viewers the world over. She recently wrote and composed the 2012 Nigerian Idol TV Show winner Mercy Chinwo’s song “The Moment”. She also featured on the power-ballad “Is It Over?” with Timi Dakolo. The song appears on his “Beautiful Noise” album.
In the past few months, she has been working with producer Cobhams Asuquo, and is now an accomplished sound engineer and capable mixing engineer. She released her new alternate singles titled ‘Hero’ and ‘Love Song’. She produced both songs, in her own words she says; ‘Hero was inspired by love… I was tired of fake love or being loved falsely. It was a prayer to love and love indeed plus a desire to make someone else’s life better with a simple deed.’ Love song on the other hand preaches and celebrates agape love.
