Ruben Stunner is an American born Nigerian upcoming act that you should watch out for. He was born in 1979 to an African American mother and a Nigerian father.

In 2009 Ruben Stunner decided to go back to his roots and travel to Nigeria. There he saw there was a huge hip hop scene which is called Afro Hip Hop! He watched the MTV Africa Music Awards and realized that he can be home in the Motherland doing the thing he best love, making good music. So he formed Livewire Naija a multi-talent group full of hungry Nigerians out of Isolo, Lagos that does everything from sing, rap and produce! Ruben Stunner is the first rapper to future the great King Sunny Ade on a song. Stunner is known to rap over Jùjú music ,afrobeat and highlife types of music that separates him from his following Nigerian rap artist that are focused more on Americanized beats. He also occasionally throws in Nigerian Pidgin English with a mixture of Yoruba to pay homage to his home.
