JESUS IS THE WAY
The world was lost in tick darkness and groomed in the wilderness due to rebellion and sin more than Sodom and Gomorrah. God in his infinite mercies, not willing that any one should perish, sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem the world. The coming of Christ on earth restored God’s grace (to man) that was first lost in the Garden of Eden through disobedient of Adam &Eve.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
It implied that one who accepts our Lord Jesus Christ, irrespective of tribe & past life will be saved from perpetual damnation and gain eternal life in God’s paradise. John 1:12 says “But as many as received him to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.
Jesus once declared in John 14:6 “… I am the way, the truth, and life; no one comes unto my father, but by me”.
Despite the indisputable true way shown to us, many seem not to have acknowledged the way , while some other procrastinate surrendering their lives to Christ Jesus . The scripture reveals that the prince of this world has blinded their eyes through the lust of the treasures and pleasures of the world which gives the enemy room to trade in the victims lives. Failure to resist the enemy and its devices can rob one’s eternal destiny. The scripture exposes the ministry of the devil as follows; “The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and destroy…” (John10:10).
• To steal : The enemy steals the heart of men with lust of money
• Kill and : Devil kill many through irresistible appetite and pride, and
• Destroy: Destroys with diverse lust through fornication and adultery.
By observations through evangelism and the study of the Holy Scripture, we discovered that the enemy steals the heart of its victim through the lust of money. He uses irresistible appetite/desires and pride to kill and finally fleshly lust (fornication and adultery) to destroy many. 2Tmimothy3:1-7 tells us that in the last days, perilous time shall come and the enemy the devil shall inflict many with lot of sins ranging from selfish love, diverse lust to denial of godly faith. 1Tim1:6, Gen3:1-10 & Prov14:34.
“I beseech you therefore by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice unto God which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove that which is good, and acceptable ,and perfect , will of God”(Rom.12:1-2).
Submit yourself to God. And resist the devil and he will flee from you (Jam.3:7). Revise from your sinful ways and follow Christ Jesus, who is the way (perfect example of holiness). Christ in you is the hope of your glory! There is eternal glory awaiting the one who obediently follow Christ (Isaiah1:19).
DON’T BE A VICTIM OF THE ENEMY!
LUST OF MONEY STEALS THE HEART
Pastor T.D Jakes in one of his massages titled “money is not evil” said that money is not evil but, when you lust over money or abuses it, that it becomes evil to you. The scripture says “Money answers all things; and the love (i.e. lust) of money is the root of all evil” (1Timothy 6:10). Many due to impatience entered into some ventures that seem profitable but later realized that the devil has tricked them while they abandoned righteousness. Imagine a young man due to the quest to make money quick, went to overseas and imported cocaine. Unfortunately, he was caught at the Nigerian airport by NDLEA and jailed after trial. Has he gotten the money then? No, but only succeeded in frustrating his life. So many are in prison today awaiting trials due to illegal drug trafficking etc. Other fake drug dealers go the extent of importing fake drugs into the country (that have killed many patients)! Some other kill, take bribe as wells as dupe there fellows in the name of making money. This is to mention but a few of the evil done under heaven just to acquire “wealth”. What an evil world! The pursuits of money regardless of righteousness have saturated the heart of the world (Youths). But the wise will always put God first. The scripture says;
“… Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (math5:33). It is a Biblical fact that one who prioritize righteousness and work with the fear of God will have divine wealth which has no sorrow. Have you wondered why some people will have all the money without peace, but some other live a happy life without much wealth? Prov.22:10 say “the blessings of God give joy and added no sorrow”. In other words, ill-gotten money is full of sorrow. Little wonder the servants of money are always under pressure and sorrowful! Some may live in pretense but can’t deceive their heart. It is very paramount you put God (righteousness) first in all your activities to live a peaceful life and enjoy divine blessings. 1Tim.6:6, Prov.15”16 says “… godliness with contentment is great gain”.
IRRESISTABLE APPETITE AND DESIRES FOR JUST EARTHLY PLEASURE KILLS
Esau lost his destiny due to irresistible appetite/desires (for food). He sold his birthright for pleasure. The scripture says “Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright” Gen.25:29-34. Devil has killed many through their desires that were not weighed by the word of God. It was this same desire that robbed Adam & Eve their cordial relationship with God in the Garden of Eden (Gen., 3; 1-10). Studies have shown that human beings have insatiable desires, which the more a particular need is satisfied, other greater ones will arise (Economist). Pride is also imbedded in incontrollable desires (greed); desire to be greater than others and highly respected which results into arrogant behavior. The fall of Lucifer is a typical example of the consequence of pride (Isaiah14:12). If these negative desires are not controlled, it will result into evils; covetousness, stealing and lost of destiny, to mention but a few. The Bible says; “...for the lord is the God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed” (1Sam.2:3b). “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (1Cor15:19). It’s wise you control your desires and subject them into obedient of God’s word thereby shame the devil that roars like a lion seeking whom to devour (1Peter 5:8).
YOUR BODY IS FOR GOD’S GLORY; NOT FOR SALE!
Destruction is another aim and ministry of the devil; you should not be ignorance of this! The enemy has destroyed many through fornication and adultery. Recall what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah, they were filled with immoralities and consequently were destroyed with fire! “Then the lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the lord out of heaven…” (Gen19:24). Therefore, don’t sale your body to sin but reserve it onto righteousness. Your life is meant to be praise to God and not a disgrace because you are God’s holy temple (1peter1:16).
CHRIST PAID YOUR REDEEMPTION PRICE
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Cor3:11). Christ Jesus has laid a solid foundation for you and me; He paid the ultimate price of redemption by sacrificing his life on the tree of cavalry and saved us from eternal damnation to allow us access to God’s kingdom (Jn3:17-18). Will you refuse him in your life? I am quite sure no, seen that He is the only through way! No matter how sore the enemy has wounded you, Christ is capable of restoring you back as if you never had any wound (committed any sin). Isaiah 1:18-20 says, “come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be as red as crimson, they shall be as wool, if ye be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land” But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured by the sword” for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it”
Psam119:11says; “Thy words have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee”. Inculcating the word of God and making it a life pattern will take you away from sin. It’s high time you submit yourself to God and resist the devil and he will flee from you (James4:7). “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” (Math11:28). Knowing the word of God and keeping it is the sure way of prosperity. Joshua 1:8 says “this book of the law shall not depart out of your mount and you shall meditate it and keep it day and night then shall you prosper in the land in which the lord has given you”. Be rest assured that only Jesus can save and He is the way to God’s paradise.
DECISION POINT
Accept Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior and do “His will”; say this simple prayer with faith:
Lord Jesus, I receive you as my Lord and personal savior. I repent and forsake all my sins. Come into my life now and help me to serve you, cancel my name from the book of death and write my name in the book of life. Guide and direct my ways in Jesus’ name. Amen.
