BE INSPIRED BY THIS YOUNG AFRICAN, Oh!sean; In a society with constantly evolving Music ideas and styles, here's one act who dares to thread the paths of Legends like late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bob Marley, Majek Fashek, Yousou Ndou, Orits Wiliki, Lucky Dube and several other Conscious/Human Right Advocate/Musicians, whose music reflects a true situation of their society... "Am sorry I don't sing just to make people dance, and my music is not just for the rich, but the downtrodden, the hopeless and the neglected masses too... who are being deceived to forget their problems rather than to be inspired to tackle their problems headlong with faith and a zeal to rise above their limitations". The Enigma 'Oh!sean', born 'Seun Bakare, a versatile, gifted young man of the arts is a songwriter, a top notch vocalist, a poet and a creative design guru, a true Lagos son from Ikorodu, Lagos-Nigeria, has been putting his act together for close to a decade now, an Afro tone singer with a deep message for all generation of people from all works of life. Born to music loving parents, as a youngster like most gifted young artistes, he was a member of his church choir and enjoys rehearsing with his mum while she cooks. He started young, miming to songs by Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Sir Shina Peters, Seal, Wyclef, Lauryn Hill, Snoop Doggy Dog, Nate Dog, Teddy Riley and lots of other 80’s and early 90's musicians, as he grew older he took inspiration from other great African acts, he started his training towards achieving his dream of becoming a musician of distinct repute back in his secondary school days, where he represented the school at many social functions and mastered the art of composing jingles from hit songs as anti-drug commercials for the Interact Club for broadcast at the school shows, on through to the Department of Creative Arts in the University of Lagos, Akoka - Yaba, where he sought to earn a degree in creative arts with the likes of Dare Art Alade, Cornelius Ogah, Annie Macaulay and many more young and talented artistes in Nigeria. Oh!sean has performed at several University Shows as well as others organized by various event consultants. In 1999 he took the first step towards his dream when he peered up with 3 of his friends as the group "EXPLICIT" and they recorded a Demo CD with tracks like Massacre Bakassi, Mio Se Mo, Sisi Blow Blow and Iwo Lokan Mife, which were all show rocking tracks at various higher institutions across the South West, the group made up of (MODE-F a.k.a Oladehinde Fajana, GADAF a.k.a. Ibrahim Raji, HEY WHY a.k.a Ayo Ajimuda, and of course Oh!sean himself who was the lead vocalist) was show favourite around the Yaba environ and they also went on to take 2nd place at the First and Second DJ Midas Talent Hunt Competition in 2002 and 2003 respectively after which the other members decided to pursue various endeavors while Oh!sean kept the dream alive by going underground, getting educated while working as a graphic artiste to raise funds to support his dream as continued putting his ink on paper. In 2006, to flag off the recording of his debut album, he hooked up with the head honcho of Coded Tunes, ID Cabasa and recorded his first solo effort, the single "Come Home", followed by the R&B/Hip Hop Collaboration “Make You Smile” featuring ID Cabasa himself and Naija Rap Icon Six O, none of which he promoted. In 2008 he released his first promo single with the video of "Nothing Do You" which made him stand out by a mile amongst the same beat, same style same content kind of music common this days, Nothing Do You, a motivational reggae song highlights the life of the ghetto children in Africa as a review towards encouraging them to believe in themselves giving examples of great men of the world who have risen from their kind of background and gone ahead to become great men even with the limited opportunities. Now With a recording deal with Edge Entertainment, his debut album titled "TESTED" has already been put together to be out in the market any moment from now, the power-packed album features some of Nigeria's top acts like Lord of Ajasa, ID Cabasa, JahBless, Six 0, Reminisce, XP and Whichlevelz, you all need to watch out for this star on the horizon as he's set to take the industry like a Tsunami. His new single "OTIPOJU" meaning "you are too much" described as a CLUB BANGER by Ayo Shonaiya is fresh out now and it's sure to rip the clubs apart like a chain saw. Oh!sean Aspires to affect the lives of every African youth positively with his music, spreading a message of true love, hope, hard work, persistence and consistency so as for us to be able to continually impact the world even from Nigeria and Africa.
