Love is a vast word, it can control you so much it can force you to kill yourself ala Romeo and Juliet, or so tame you barely notice it when it comes, or it can't control itself and makes you go made one moment then light and giddy the next, (and the list goes on...)
It all comes down to one thing, love is unpredictable.
Now, friendship is pretty much love's cousin. It can be unpredictable, but not as sneaky. It can make you feel light and giddy, but not giddy enough. It can kill, but only through emotion (no physical violence.). And because of it's relation to love, it can get tired and pass you on to it.
Think about it, once you get to know your crush, you two end up as friends, right (unless you find out that that person is a horrible perso and stop liking that person)? And a lot
