“He who knows nothing, loves nothing. He who can do nothing understands nothing. He who understands nothing is worlthless. But he who understands also loves, notices, sees…….. the more knowledge is inherent in a thing, the greater the love………. Anyone who imagines that all fruits ripen at the same time as the strawberries knows nothing about grapes”. God explains to Jonah that essence of love is to “labour” for something and to make something grow’, that love and labour are inseparable. One loves that for which one labours, and one labours for that which one loves. Love is the active concern for the life and the growth of that which we love. Respect exists only on the basis of freedom. To love somevody is not just a strong feeling, it is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, ther would be no basis for the promise to love each other for ever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can we judge that it will stay for ever, when my act does not involve judgment qne decision.? Love is not the result of adequate sexual satisfaction, but sexual happiness even the knowledge of the so-called sexual technique is the result of love. Love is possible only if two persons communicate with each other from the centre of their existence, hance if each one of them experience himself from the centre of his existence. To have faith requires courage, the ablility to take a risk, the readiness even to accept pain and disappointment. Fairness ethics lend themselves to confusion with the ethics ot the Golden Rule. The maxaim “to do unto others as you would like them to do unto you” can be interpreted as menning “be fair in your exchange with others.
