Leonel Amílcar Narciso Estevão, real name of DJ Wizard, was born in Mozambique on 21st May 1986
and is now amongst the most prominent DJs in Africa.
DJ Wizard started off as a DJ in 1999 playing in family house parties and from there his passion for
music never stopped. In 2002 he was part of the first Mozambican DJ contest organized by former DJ
Paura, where he got his first contact with real DJ’s and mixing equipment. Next, he decided it was
time to experiment with Mobile DJ and that’s when his career as a DJ began to rise, playing for bigger
crowds, including local clubs.
In 2009, DJ Wizard became famous in Africa after his appearance, as a contestant, on MNET reality TV
show “BIG BROTHER AFRICA 4: REVOLUTION”, where he became known as Leonel Estevão. As a
positive consequence of being a new born celebrity, DJ Wizard is now an international DJ playing not
only in Mozambique but also in other African countries such as South Africa, where he has played
alongside other famous local DJs like DJ Waxxy, DJ Snypes and DJ Scratch Masta, to name a few.
DJ Wizard loves music so much he has been investing a lot into his career to gain more experience and
build a strong reputation in the field. With the advantage of having his origins in a tropical country, he
is able to play different music from all over the world that set people on fire. His biggest ambition as a
DJ is to make people party like never before and never want to leave the dance floor.
