face forward
When I was a kid I had this habit of walking into obstacles and sustaining cuts on my legs. Consequently my dads constant advice to me, whether he was holding my hand and walking with me or releasing me to go and play, hIS words was always face forward. As I grew up a bit older, I one day summoned up courage to question him why he was always telling me to face forward. His answer was that I always walked ahead while looking backwards and that is the reason for my many leg cuts as I always end up in one obstacle or another. Now as an adult and as a child of God I fully understand the pains from the injuries we sustain when we walk forward while looking backwards. Many of us are not making the level of progress in life that we are capable of making because we are focusing on the failures of yesterday and not concentrating on the possibilities of today and the opportunities of tomorrow. For some of us it is the successes of yesterday that have kept us looking back, not focusing on the challenges of today. Yesterday is gone; all you have is today, therefore do not let the past hold your gaze. This is what our text is saying to us. Let your eyes look straight ahead and fix your gaze directly before you.
MY PRAYERS
1. Father, everything from my yesterday which adversely affects my today I cut off in Jesus Name.
2. Every bad experience from my yesterday holding me back from making progress in life, I let go now in Jesus name.
