Tony Stage, A Rising Star Nigeria is undoubtedly blessed with talents in all spheres of life. One of such talents is 29 years old Tony Dafe Ighofose, a final year student of Business Administration from the Lagos State University (LASU). Though an aspiring business administrator by study, Tony Stage as he’s popularly called is driven by one passion, Music! As a teenager, singing for him started from church, where he was a lead singer in the Choir, before he later delved into commercial music. As an easy going person by nature, Tony Stage is naturally inclined to R&B, though he could sway a little to hip-hop and highlife music. He’s inspired by artistes like R Kelly, Usher, Cisco, Neyo, Chris Brown, Lionel Riche, and Beyonce. On the home front Tony Stage admires Tuface Idibia, and Banky W for their passion and vocal skills. His passion for music led him to the 1st edition of Idols West Africa competition organized by the then CELTEL but now ZAIN, and also Pan Africa. He qualified as part of the top 24 singers from an auditioning of about 5,000 people. Though he couldn’t make the top ten list, Tony says aside the experience, Friendship was the major gift he got from the competition. Life for him after Idols wasn’t so easy because obviously he had become popular; he says however, he’s been able to adjust back to his normal life, fitting into the usual everyday life. Speaking to Goodlife, the Lagos born Artiste said his participation at Idols opened doors for him in terms of his music career. Though he hasn’t really been in the light because he decided to take time off to rebrand himself as an Artiste, he has performed in fashion shows, and also featured in albums of up coming Artistes like Tosin, Igho, Biglo among others. His single titled "Specially for You" (a combination of highlife and R&B ) though not yet officially released is presently enjoying airplay across Radio Stations. Tony Says he was inspired to do the song by Sunny Ineji’s "Oruka". On his take about the Nigerian Music industry, this is what he says " the Nigerian Music industry is doing fantastic. Inspite of odds like piracy, they have still been able to produce good videos, win both local and international awards, its a huge achievement". The name TONY STAGE for him represents every stage of his life. The R&B singer also has about 12 songs to his kitty. Aside music, Tony presently works as a freelance Marketer and in his spare time he writes songs plays basketball and volleyball and loves listening to music. His message for his fans out there is "don’t give up on your dream, delay is not denial, stay focused
