DJ Buja is a Lagos-born, London-raised club and radio DJ, whospecialises in a mix of underground UK, US and African club sounds.Moving to London from Nigeria as a child, DJ Buja was raised on a richmusical diet of Nigerian afrobeat, highlife and traditional styles;underground UK flavors from jungle & drum 'n' bass through to UK garage,grime and dubstep; Caribbean sounds from reggae and dancehall to calypsoand soca; and American hip hop, R 'n' B, and dance music. DJ Buja's unique and energetic playing style draws on all of thesevaried musical influences. Whilst his current sound is mainly all aboutuptempo, bass-heavy, underground UK garage, in all it's forms from 4x4and 2-step to grime and dubstep, he does also enjoy flexing somedifferent styles when the crowd is ready for it! DJ Buja has pushed his bass-heavy, forward-thinking selection on theLondon club circuit for the last 7 years, holding down residencies atLondon nightspots Departure (formerly the Market Bar), the Paradise Barand Cube, and also playing at underground parties such as 'Afrocentric','In Stereo' and his own promotion 'The Vibe'. DJ Buja has also held down a 2 year residency on London-based internetradio station Worldwide FM (www.wwfm.co.uk), playing a mix ofunderground UK garage, drum 'n' bass, hip hop and R 'n' B.
