"Xmas spirit" where went thou?guess you ran cos I grew up.Lol,remb those times when I was like 8 or so.How gayly I&my siblings would dress.Early on xmas morn,my grandma wud bath us all(don't knw y she chooses to on xmas day).Mum always biz with getting the meal ready,hw we salivated at the steaming pot of jollof rice.Then the moment I luv d most,when we put on our xmas clothes,all of us swaying from left 2 right admiring our clothes and then my grandma brings out the plates she bought 4 me,my sis&cousins with which we wud eat on xmas day,funny right?miss those days,when all that mattered was having one another.After we done with the "house stuffs"my elder sis acting as the captain,steering our course to some relatives&family friends,funny enough all where we go,we are given money.Beats my imagination now that indeed,my sis knew the green pastures 4 us to graze.When the host brings food or drinks,we roll our eyes&give them that look&finally my sis lets out the lines "aunty/uncle,we are full we just ate at home".Then when we are leaving,our host goes in&then we pray to the Lord for large amounts.We put on our plastic smile if the cash is meagre&off we go.At the end of it all,that xmas pm it's now time 2 share "the money".Trust me when my sis says "I wonder how much we made"I let out the exact amount&she gives me that look of "over sabi" and I flash her a smile of "in your face".Those times though!merry xmas.
