What does age really have to do with love? I am in a relationship in which I find myself with an older male and he is Nigerian. The truth is that he is not the first older male I have ever dated. He is 48 and I am 25. I have dated men his age, older and maybe ten years younger. I do not care too much for males my age because I have never had good luck with them. When I was younger, the males I grew up with in the African community in my state in America never really talked to me and likewise the African American males at my school. Most of the men I dated were African American. So, I began to talk to older men and I liked it and I got used to it. It was not a big issue to me. But now that I am with this man, I feel that he fears my parents only because of the age factor. I mean, he's Nigerian but he still fears my parents. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should even think about getting married because the truth is that if my parents do not accept him, I feel as if I will just go ahead and marry him anyway. Why is it that happiness is not a factor here? I honestly do not understand society anymore.
