I’m a little embarrassed to say this in this community, but I need your opinion here. I met a girl some five years ago during my 300 level in the university... She's beautiful(when I met her then), I liked her, asked her for a date, we met the next day, I told her how I felt about her, and she was like "we're seeing for the second time, don't really know much about ourselves", that I should give her some time to think about it, which I gave her time, but the time she took was so long that I got tired of her and lost all that I felt for her... Only for her to call me one evening to tell me that she's falling in love with me, but I never knew what to tell her. I didn't only lose the good feelings I had for her but disliked her as well because she did not give me the opportunity to express the feelings I had for her then... We went into a relationship, I forced my self to like her, which never happened. She did everything she could to keep the relationship. She was always waiting for me, spending for me, missed lectures for me, left most of her friends because of me. She did everything to please me, but it wasn't possible for me to like her again. I even cheated on her in several occasions to her knowledge, but instead of getting angry at me she cried and begged me. All these kept happening until one day I told her I was no longer interested, that I've met someone else, so I dumped her. She cried and told me that I would NEVER MEET ANOTHER GIRL THAT WOULD LOVE ME as much as she did. I took her for granted and thought in my mind that those were mere words...
CONFESSION – I have never had any serious relationship since then, no matter how hard I try. All the relationships I've been in barely last more than two weeks, sometimes days before I either get tired of it or the other way round. Truth is I never meet the girls I like, even if I meet the ones I like, they always come up with stories like "there's no way you can be single, a guy like you(good looking) must have girls swirling around you", but what they don't know is that, I'm a grade one single dude searching for true love. Am scared, I dunno if her WORDS are HUNTING me, I don't want to believe that my failure to secure a true relationship is as a result of what she told me after dumping her. I JUST NEED YOUR OPINION ABOUT THIS PLEASE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
