DEJAVU RECORDS proudly presents the Music Artiste named AFAY, A Prolific Singer, Talented Songwriter of Niger Delta Origins, Born and Bred in Port Harcourt.
Set to take “Afro Naija” Music to the WORLD!! AFAY was born Efeoghenecha Akpotu, the fourth child in a family of six. Growing up in downtown Port Harcourt ,in the early 80′s, under the influence of a father who she can only describe, as the ultimate music aficionado.
Her unique style of music cuts across several genres from Pop to R and B as well as soul and contemporary rock mixed in with an undeniable naija/afro flavour Following a collaboration with Omawumi on her highly successful sophomore album ‘Lasso of Truth” in which she wrote and was featured on the song “Now it’s Over”.
Her breakout singles “Hey Bobo” and “LAI LAI” both written by AFAY and produced by J CIN have already been featured in an article by Harry Itie of okayafrica.com and is set to be amongst the hottest new songs in 2013!.
