He got his stage name Omion from his surname which he was fondly called by his friends because they find it difficult to pronounce his first name.Omion creates music which combines rock,afro-pop,rap and hip-hop sensibilities. MUSIC JOURNEY Born September 9th ,Omion’s real names are Omion Omoegbele Omos.Omion spent most of his childhood in Ekpoma,Edo-State,a place so small that you knew everybody from the day you were born till the day you could get yourself out of there. He always had interest in music and started singing at an early age of 10.Omion sang all the time as a child much to the chagrin of his siblings, mimicking popular America artiste like 2 Pac,50-Cent,Mary J Blige,Ja-Rule,Jay-Z,Nas.e.t.c which later influenced his music career. I used to go through the house singing, singing and singing, I sang for breakfast, lunch and for dinner. He grew up studying music on his own, he never attended a singing lesson before, because music to him is from within. At a tender age,Omion started writing his own songs I learned very early on that I could write songs from the heart with lyrics that spoke of pain, sadness, anger, hate, love where I couldn’t actually speak it. At age 17,he worked more on his song writing act and was popular among artiste in his town thereby writing songs for upcoming artiste, performing at local shows impressing audiences with his ability to convey complex emotions, local clubs, doing free shows, backing up artiste, getting collabos,rap battles, Broadway performance,competiting in local shows and winning many of these events by impressing audience with my singing and dancing abilities and also featuring on artiste songs. Around this time he began rebelling against his strict upbringing by going to local shows and performing. His parents where the type who saw musicians as never do well people, bandwagons especially my mum, she never wanted me to do music because of the lifestyle associated with musicians, We always had fight because of that. Though I never got support from anybody I was self-motivated the never say never guy who believed that music was from the inside. Everybody in my house sings but none took it serious, infact my elder sister was a choir mistress in our church, my mum was once in the choir also my dad was in the men’s choir. My family was full of choristers. His parents were intellectuals they were keen in sending him to the best school in his town as they wanted the best for him. In high school, I hanged out with the rockability crew the guys who were trying to be rappers, the funny kids’ hehe.I kept making my own songs and developing my song writing skills. In 2009,Omion went to Warri Delta State at that time he was seeking for admission at the Delta State University, which he was denied entry, but he got hooked up with a guy who produced his first ever single titled YOUR LOVE. The song literally reached like 50 people ,the music never got the airplay it needed at that time. In 2010,Omion gained admission to study Accounting at Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma.At Ambrose Alli University, he joined various entertainment groups. During this time, he struggled to make a breakthrough in the music industry.He grew frustrated waiting for his career to move forward. During this period he has written a lot of songs at his free time too. In 2014,he finished his university and got a B.Sc Degree in ACCOUNTING. In 2015, he proceeded to National Youth Service Corp(NYSC).At N.Y.S.C,he met a fellow corper who was a music producer. They both worked together and came out with a track titled EVERYBODY. In January 2017 shortly after his n.y.s.c,Omion moved to Lagos to produced a track titled BODY AND SOUL.Body and Soul which is an afro beat was produced by Victoriouz Icon an ace producer who has produced for a lot of big artiste like Wizkid,Saucekid,Naeto C, He has also featured in the glo mega tour sharing same stage with artiste such as 2Face,Runtown,P-Square,Reekado Banks,Flavor.e.t.c.BODY AND SOUL is an afro pop music which contain some dance and rock elements.His style of music is a fusion of afro-pop,rnb,hip-hop and rap.BODY AND SOUL contained elements as well as dance and rock influences.The resulting effect was meant to be intriguing and interesting yet vibrant enough to get people moving at club.
