Man Shares His Abuja Friend's Electricity Bill That Amounts To Over N47M Every Month

A man, Mohammed Jammal, aka White Nigerian, has taken to the 'X' platform to share the electricity bill his friend in Abuja receives monthly.

He shared this while lamenting about the electricity tariff hike in Nigeria.

Earlier this month, Mohammed took to X to reveal that his friend pays N14m per month for electricity. He added that under the new electricity tariff, his friend would likely pay over N40m.


Nigerians on X reacted, accusing Mohammed of lying against the country. They told him no one pays that much on electricity, not even a hotel.


On Tuesday, May 14, Mohammed took to the platform to share a receipt of his friend's monthly bill. His friend now has to pay N47, 320, 287.42 for electricity consumed in one month.

He tagged the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to the post.

First, this can't be a house, because I doubt even if aso villa uses 40m worth of energy in a month, so let's even "assume" it is a company. Still, it will not be feasible. Take a look at what he posted. From April 3 to April 19, which is over 2weeks, he said that house used 29,560 units of electricity which amounted to 6.6m. Now, from April 23 to May 1 which is just a week, he said the same house used 165,452 units which amounted to over 37m. This technically impossible!!! . It logically and technically impossible for a house that consumed around 29,000 units of electricity in over 2weeks to now come and consume over 165,000units in just a week (within the same month oo) . It is technically and logically impossible. I'm not saying he's lieing, all I'm saying is if by any chance his friends were actually charged as he stated, then this has got to be one of the biggest scam/fraud in history!!! They've been massively defrauded, massively.
