Mangoes, carrots, banana’s, pineapples, cherries, apples, watermelon, pears, grapes,…yummy…amazing way to keep fit.
One way to keep or have a healthy lifestyle is to take fruits. Eat a variety of fruits & vegetables. We all need to maintain a healthy body and fight diseases and the way to do this is to take Fruits & Vegetables. That’s their job! Yet most of us don’t eat enough of them. They are an excellent source of the vitamins, fiber and the minerals we need to fight diseases and maintain a healthy body.
So, how do you start? Aim for fruit and vegetable a day
What? Did you say fruits? Yes! This may sound a lot but you see, with a bit of forward planning, you will see that it’s easy to meet the day goal without having to make major changes to your eating habits. Different types of fruits & vegetables provide different nutrients in varying amounts, so choosing from a wide variety of them is best. a glass of orange juice, an apple, a small can of tomatoes or baked beans each count as one portion. So you can start by…
· Eating fruit at breakfast – e.g. a banana with your cereal, a glass of fruit juice
· Adding salad to sandwiches
· Adding extra fruit to dessert
· Putting more vegetables in soups, stews and pasta sauces
· Adding sliced vegetables to pizza
Bananas for instance is a good way to start your day with. Ever wondered why banana is the no fruit with the world’s leading athletes. Bananas contain three natural sugars sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous minute work. But energy isn't the only way, a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. So eat a banana today and experience the difference. The vitamin B it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Banana is rich in iron and can stipulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia. This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium, yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.
Just one fruit, all this and so much more…
So….keep being fit & healthy as you enjoy all the yummy fruits
