When i talk about the present generation I'm talking about those within the age range of 18- 40 years. Today there's so much confusion in naija as aresult of social and economic problems created by our own parents who doesn't seem to have any solution. I need contributions on how we can change the situation and make naija a better place even if not for ourselves atleast for our children.

Welcome to the realization of this reality here.If U insist on bringing serious issues to the fore,some would call U a nerd or geek.However,dont let that dampen ur spirit. Their attitude towards this topic goes a long way to answer ur question.This country is a very wicked country.A defined a wicked country as where people engage in empty argument when serious actions are needed.The Nigerian youth is not exempted from my indictment.We ve soaked in the vices of the last generation(our father's generation)We ve acquired all the negative features of that generation. This is not to say there's no more hope for us.There's hope.However,I dont see any promise yet.If any serious steps are not taken,our generation would be worst than this one we diss.We are turning out to not only be a bad generation,we are becoming a LAZY generation. |

Godsson i agree with you on that one. But i feel that same goes for the rest of the world not only Nigeria.
But i think Nigeria has a other problem as well i havent put my finger on it what it is just yet. Maybe its still the blame game to the west as its so easy to keep blaming. Of course it takes a while to shake this coat of but really most of you have been born after it became independent
When i read here about Nigeria lots of it is negative i cant understand this. Maybe its the fact that to many young people want to compare Nigeria to the west. And want all now. And indeed dont want to work for it or start changing things by themselves.
I really dont get it because your country could have it all and dont give me this corruption thing as the blame all the time too. As give me a person in power and show me they are corruption free in any country.

Nice post but its kinda hard! We are all praying for the glory of Nigeria, but to say the fact this generation of ours can't do much, to start with we are all after money, getting everything done within secs and been comfortable without considering its effects on other's. I think those to change this country for the real good and to place it at the position its ought to be are yet to be born.

Dude!I'd ve loved to share in ur enthusiasm,but the realist in me wont allow that.For U to talk about birth,we must ve a pregnancy.There is none yet.Until I see one,my indictment would only go worse.If care is not taken,our fathers' generation would be better than ours.At least,some of them had respect for hard work(something that is very scarce in ours)They had the Wole Soyinkas & all,we ve Yahooboys.lol |

@Godsson that's an understatement, our father's generation is far more better than our's with the fact that they are kinda hardworking but during their days there's nothing like latest technology to work with as its nowadays, but they still have a passmark than ours.
@cleverman it's going to start with you and I, if we are truly ready for a change but which we can't at the moment. The elderly ones are out there embezzling, fighting for their pockets, who doesn't want to be rich/famous/successful in life by whatever means? That's just the insinuation's "Nigerians" are dealing with at the moment.

i've been saying this and will still say it..our generation cant make changes..we can only TRY to spark the minds that will think of making this changes..i have seen alot of people sayin stuffs in the real world nobody excercises them.we are too conscious of our behinds to make that change so all we do now is talk...

@khadijah i dont agree with what your saying. Every generation will make changes.
And yes you will change the situation in Nigeria but not if every one is so negative.
If the changes are not able to be done at a big scale you can do it on a little one. You start and then others will follow. As its the people who will change a nation not the politician because they are on the top and dont give a damn ohhhh they pretend they care but really its just a facade.
@ Cleverman i like your thinking just start on a little project what lies close to your heart and see if you can make a change. If not for others just start doing it for yourself.

I don't think our present generation can do anything to our problem, since my guy (Mr. Cleverman) started this topic on 09/10/2008 till am replying only 43 viewers and 11 replies, but if it's concerning (oko&obo) u will c more dan 1000 viewers and replies, by this, we are not well train to help the Naija, the place u will hear commissioners dies on top of Ashawo in hotel, for the heavy work he carried he suppose not have chance for his wife talkless of taking harlot around, go around our states now except Lagos u will not see any project, no road, no light, no water, just like our govs. were there only to pay salary for the state nothing more, nawa for Naija.
