Not every school in every state in Nigeria should force students to wear school uniforms, especially Secondary schools. In fact, in some schools, certain students should wear uniforms at a certain level (e.g Junior Students: JS1-JS3).

And I disagree against dress codes like students shouldn't wear anything on their wrists or around their necks except their watches, or Male students shouldn't have afro and other fancy hair styles(like plaiting their hair for example). And females students shouldn't use make-up and cosmetics or shouldn't live their hair long, falling and straigthed

All those kind of things are useless and don't let students to express themselves, even if some of those thing don't make SOME students to concentrate and improve one their school work, they can
-1-Be transfered to schools where school uniforms and those dress codes are allowed
-2-Get advice from parents and others and take it
or -3-Be ignored to do as bad as they want in their school work( after all, at senior secondary level they should be mature enough to no their wrongs and theirs rights, and their school work determines THEI future ambition)

I like Nigerian school way of disclipline at least the students are not disrespectful like the Aemrican students(No offense to any American in this site). N-way, the school uniform, is just our thing. When you go to college, they allow you to wear anything you want.
I heard the Uniform thing is also done in Japan. N-way that's just Nigeria for you, they do the oppposite of what others does.

I think it is better to wear uniform. if people start "expressing" themselves then they have gotten themselves into trouble. they may not be accepted for the way the dress seeing as some people may come from poorer backgrounds and may not necessarily be able to afford certain clothes. i hate uniform myself but at least everyone looks the same and so there will be no cause for bullying.
but i am a girl who loves going against uniform and to me i see it as a way of annoying the teachers  Wink

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
