LAGOS (AFP) — Many Nigerian professionals who grew up, studied and worked abroad are returning to career opportunities back home in a trend that has gathered pace with the global economic crisis.

And some specialists say now-democratic Nigeria, still battling corruption, crime and pockets of armed militancy, will reap the benefits.

Yvonne Emordi-Njideka, 37, made the jump eight months ago. With a background in Silicon Valley then in financial products in San Francisco she walked into a strategic development job at the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Liessss. what dou you mean by ''most of them are dullard''?

I bet you if you have the opportunity, you will not blink an eye before you grab it. Trust me, if you could graduate in Nigeria with a first degree with a minimum class of 2:2 with little or no resources (I mean no up to date study materials) and then go abroad for say a Masters Degree, Then sky would definitely be your limit when you come back home in as much as you have actually gone abroad to study and not to work 24hrs 7days doing cleaning etc.

Y is it like that? apart from the internet resources which is available to almost every household in the developed countries, most things that happen as far as studies are concerned are all real life to you. For instance, the Governor of the Central bank of england coming to teach you in class and telling the entire class about the business activities and strategies that took place at work today. If there is a new science in the morning today, trust me you are sure of getting materials to read about it in the Library of your school in the afternoon of the same day. When on earth are we goin to achive that in Nigeria for instance. even if it does happens mopo wey go follow the guy come sef will not let us come into the class. The school itself will celebrate until the kingdom come. y? If there must be any re-orientation like you have suggested, it has to start from the Nigerian school and not the Nigerain companies.

My brother, I am writing this from experience there is no comparison. I graduated from OAU years back and I did my so called ''project''. All the materials I used for the project were all from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, I went to the UK to do My MSc, afterwards and it was absolutely fantastic, I did a professional and then came back home. Trust me, I am just 35 and if I leave work with my achievementts now, Non of my children will ever suffer again in life. Meaning I DEY ENJOY THE UK EDUCATION no be small and I am putting what I learnt from abroad into practise at work. the things dey work for me big time.

I am not saying staying at home to study is not good Nigerian graduate and youths are good competitors in whatever they do, but our educational system needs to be re-organised. Imagine a lecturer bringing an internet article to sell in class to students. articles which you could download freely on the internet. if you try to download your own copy online, you don fail. you must buy his own. Y?

Believe me, there is know dullard any amongst them. I mean those of them that have really gone to study. Even those that where borm abroad too are very very good.

Anyway, I rest my case

It's true my dear. It's not an exageration. He is as good as being sentenced to life in prison.

But no mind that guy that is not the issue of discussion now.
