Sexual harassment in our campuses has been given varied interpretations. In your opinion, who is harassing who on campus? What do you suggest we do about this situation?

you know what annoys me most when this topic is discussed.....people(especially male) seem to think that it is the fault of the girls as regards to their scanty dressing( i will only discuss female sexual harassment since its more rampant than male sexual harassment) they say if the girls dress more conservatively this will not be such a problem.....utter rubbish!! please look at how hot Nigeria is...if a girl wants to wear a spaghetti strap top or a tube top that is her RIGHT! i am in no way encouraging promiscuity but please it is not bcos of the dressing but because we do not take substantial action against those perverts(whether lecturer or student) we just sit around complaining about it and doing nothing to stop it. in America were the women were all sorts of unbelievable things.....how many times do we hear about sexual harassment, hardly simply bcos on no occasion is it tolerated in the least!i am glad to hear that nasty lecturers are finally getting their" just deserts"!

well i don't really know what you will term as "overlooked" but did u know dat 15,000 law suits are filed each year(dats only for the work place). and 83% of college students have complained about sexual harassment and 73% went to court, 70% of those cases received a verdict of guilty. in fact America has the highest amount of sexual harassment lawsuits in the world. so i really don't think it is overlooked at all.

well sexual harrasment in one of the rave in nigerian campuses both tertiary and higher institution, to me i think th blame should be shared between the two parties, i mean the victim and the lady in charge cos if we see what our ladies are putting on in school meeeeeeeeeen is absolutely out of control.

We are both responsible for the sexual harassment. When you wear your cloths and look in the mirror, what do you think? that this will be attractive and attract men to you? attract them in what sense, sexually? yeah now you see me gaping at your sexy jeans trouser protuding ass the way you planned and you think am not an animal?. com'on youl, you know you dressing the way harlots in the old ages use to attract male potentness, maybe now even worse. AND you dont expect to see the animal instinct of men, where they use there strength(rape), power (position abuse) and cunningness(spiritual rape) to mate?.
2 wrongs never make a right! but be certain of what you wish for.

I believe girls are more prone to this. This is simply because of their indecent dressing on campuses. No two ways about this. By the time they change from this silly way of dressing and dress like a normal and decent girl, the issue of sexual harrasment will definitely become a thing of the past.Girls NOTE.

mr ukoh, a girl has the RIGHT!! to dress however she wants and to wear wat keeps her comfortable. the plain and simple problem is the perverse and dirty minds of some men that dey cannot even control themselves! after all in the olden days werent the women more or less naked......and in that time promiscuity and sexual harassment were more or less unheard of. so , no i dont agree with you if girl dresses "normal and decent" sexual harassment would not stop, wat needs to become "normal and decent" is the dirty minds of those men.Disgusting Men NOTE.!

alright....i am a girl first of alll..!!!and dont get me wrong i am in no way encouraging promiscuity dats not the point i am tryn to get across , i am simply saying that wether a girl wears iro and buba or she wears hot pants it will not change the fact that she is a girl and the those lectures are aware of dat. since they know that they can exchange sex for marks and there will be no repuercussion..they will do just dat!. wat u are tryn to say is symonymos to sayin that a armed robbers are not at fault for stealing and killing rich men and the rich men are to blame for buying nice cars and nice houses. and note what is happenin to young ladies in niaja could easily happen to ur sister or daughter so u better call a spade a spade.

Muyideen . America is the land of the free. Free to do what we want dress how we want. Don't need your parents to tell you how to dress and all that junk. To me personally. No one deserves to get raped or anything guys or gals. Regardless to how a women dress a man should keep him hands to himself. But then again I can't say that either cause women here sometimes provokes the man then they call it rape. That sucks. This issues will never be resolved.

yup.....u guys don't want the girls to dress like americans and stuffs but don;t u enjoy it when we do what the americans do.....for example....traditionally by culture and religon, man and woman are not supposed to have sex before marriage but aren't u guys the one who will pester ur girfriends to give in to u.....???hhhmmmm....don't u enjoy all the foreplays and sexual positions that nigerian girls are doing to u....coz they learn from americans!!!somehow....all our lives are influenced by american....nothing can change that coz they are sort of the controlling media....therefore we cannot change our lifestyles....oh come on,don't tell us that u don't enjoy seeing us dressing nice or openly.....i can see men's eyes oggling out!!!the only problem is.........keep ur and ur hands where it should be.....not smothering a gal without her permission...learn to control ur LUST!!!!!if u wanna ,pay an "ashao".....!!!
