The Plateau State University community is in mourning following the tragic demise of Dading James Jordan, a second-year Computer Science student, who was allegedly killed by suspected Fulani militias.

The incident occurred on Thursday night, April 18, 2024, when gunmen launched a deadly attack on Chikam, a neighboring community of the university located in Bokkos Local Government Area. Dading and two others fell victim to the assailants' violence.

The heartbreaking news of Dading's death came hours after he posted a poignant message on social media, expressing concern about the rampant gunshots in Butura land, where he resided.

Colleagues and friends have taken to various social media platforms to mourn the loss of the promising student. Emma Masok, a close acquaintance, recounted his last interaction with Dading, revealing the student's apprehensions about the escalating insecurity in Bokkos and its environs.

Masok's emotional tribute painted a picture of Dading as a vibrant and visionary individual, dedicated to making a positive impact on those around him. He remembered Dading as an intellectual and inspirational figure who played a significant role in their shared aspirations and endeavors.

Expressing deep sorrow over the untimely loss, Masok conveyed heartfelt condolences to Dading's family and vowed to honor his memory by carrying forward the legacy of their shared goals and aspirations.

As investigations into the tragic incident continue, the Plateau State University community remains shaken by the senseless violence that claimed the life of one of its own. Gistmania extends its condolences to the bereaved family and friends, urging authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
