EFCC Nabs 26 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Port Harcourt Raid

In a decisive operation targeting internet-related crimes, the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully apprehended 26 individuals suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities within the vicinity of the Nigeria Television Authority and Choba areas of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, the arrests were made following credible intelligence gathered by the EFCC, indicating the alleged involvement of the suspects in various internet-related activities. EFCC's Spokesman, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development, disclosing that the operation resulted in the seizure of several items, including diverse brands of phones, laptops, and six exotic cars.

Oyewale reiterated the EFCC's commitment to combating cybercrimes and ensuring that perpetrators face the full wrath of the law. He affirmed that the apprehended individuals would be subjected to thorough investigations, with the aim of gathering sufficient evidence to support their prosecution.

As the EFCC continues its efforts to clamp down on cybercriminals and safeguard the integrity of the digital space, Oyewale assured the public of the agency's unwavering dedication to upholding justice and accountability. The suspects are poised to face legal proceedings as soon as investigations are concluded, underscoring the EFCC's resolve to deter and punish perpetrators of internet-related fraud.
