Flora, a sixth grader at Keller Middle School, took her own life on May 7 after enduring months of torment from her peers. Alice Martinez revealed that she and Flora had sought assistance from the school's assistant principal early in the school year. Despite these efforts and a formal request to transfer Flora to another school, the transfer was denied in October.
