As the curtains drew on the 10th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) Cultural Day, social media platforms erupted with speculation following the announcement of reality star Venita Akpofure as the winner of the Best Dressed Female category.
The Cultural Day event, a precursor to the prestigious awards ceremony, witnessed a dazzling display of traditional attire as celebrities and guests showcased their sartorial splendor.
Notable personalities gracing the occasion included BBNaija alumni Neo and Venita Akpofure, Tacha, Liquorose, OAP Do2dtun, Kunle Remi, and Iyabo Ojo, among others.
In a keenly contested category, Venita Akpofure clinched the Best Dressed Female award, while her cousin Neo Akpofure secured the Best Male Dressed title. This marked Venita’s second consecutive win in the category, having previously triumphed alongside Yemi Cregx last year.
However, despite her victory, murmurs of discontent emerged on social media platforms, with some users questioning the fairness of Venita’s repeated triumphs. Critics argued that Liquorose, another attendee, exuded elegance and deserved the accolade.
While Venita’s win sparked debate among online communities, the AMVCA Cultural Day remained a celebration of African heritage and fashion, showcasing the rich diversity and creativity within the entertainment industry.
