A senior lecturer at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) faced severe consequences on Friday, May 10, when he was publicly stripped almost naked by a group of female students over allegations of making forceful segxwal advances towards one of them.
The lecturer, whose identity has not been confirmed, teaches in the English Department and had allegedly incurred the wrath of his female students, who claimed that his "cup was full" and demanded public disgrace.
The incident occurred at the Adankolo mini campus, where the lecturer was stripped to his boxers before being rescued by the school security unit.
During interrogation, the lecturer implicated his colleagues, including the Head of Department (HOD), alleging that they provided him with names of female students to "pass or fail" based on their level of intimacy or absence with them.
The university management has set up an investigation into the matter, according to the school's spokesperson, Daniel Iyke. "The vice-chancellor has set up a body to look into it, and the report will be made known as soon as it comes out," he said.
Efforts to speak with the female victim or her father, a police officer, were unsuccessful as they were shielded from interacting with our correspondent.
