Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Killing Of PoS Operator, Mutiu In Ogun

The operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three persons in connection with the killing of a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, Mutiu Salako in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Salako, who was also a lotto agent was reportedly shot dead in front of his shop in Oke-Lantoro area of Abeokuta on Sunday evening.

An eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent had claimed that Salako’s killing was cult related.

According to the source, the gunmen who were on motorcycle accosted Salako around 6pm, shot at him and sped off.

“One man down as suspected cultist shot a lotto shop owner dead in Oke-Lantoro area of Abeokuta city.

“The police has deposited the corpse at state general hospital morgue”
, the source added.

But, the PPRO said the Salako’s was not cult related but a case of attempted robbery.

She said “according to the report with me, it was the police operatives from Kemta Division that attended to the attack.

“Two gunmen on motorcycle shot one Mutiu Salako, a PoS operator who later died in the hospital. It was not a case of cult killing as being speculated but attempted murder and three suspects have been arrested after the police raid of the area”.
