A barber known as Jimoh Weto, a Christ Apostolic Church pastor and three others, were arrested by policemen on June 24, 2011 in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old boy in Lagos.
The boy known as Rasheed was said to have been murdered when he went to Weto's shop located on the Lagos/Badagry Expressway to assist him in his duties. His mutilated body, which had several parts missing, was discovered behind the shopping complex where the barber's shop is located.
Weto's neighbours told CRIME DIGEST that such killings were not unusual in the area. "Although it is not unusual to find headless or dismembered bodies by the roadside, Weto's action really shocked everyone. More so, the boy in question wasn't his own apprentice but was rather working with Weto's friend. Weto had asked his friend for Rasheed and that was how he came to be in Jimoh's custody as at the time of his death," the source said.
At the shopping plaza where Weto once plied his trade, most of the shops were locked. Although it had been raining all morning, one of the traders present told CRIME DIGEST that the traders who were absent were scared of returning to work. "It was horrifying to learn that a boy was murdered at the back of this building. So many have not returned to their shops since the police came here," the source said.
The shopping complex, which is bordered at the back by bushes, was said to have been raided by the police on June 24 after an anonymous source had tipped off the police about some burnt, mutilated body parts that had been thrown just behind the building.
Weto, 23, was described by his colleagues as a normal, everyday guy. "I don't know him personally, but he has owned this shop for about three years. We got to know of the incident when the police swooped on us, making arrests; Weto wasn't in his shop. It was later I learnt he had been arrested earlier," the source said.
According to a police source, the boy had been reported missing when he didn't show up at home the day he was murdered. "After the report, we started investigation. Later, we got a tip off that there was a mutilated corpse behind the shopping plaza. Subsequent findings revealed Weto was implicated. After his arrest, he confessed to having other accomplices. He had sold some body parts to a CAC pastor within his vicinity. The case has been transferred to Panti as we speak," the source said.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Samuel Jinadu told CRIME DIGEST that he had no details on the case.

Who knows how long the pastor has been involved in ritual killings, and
covering it up with his pastoral duties.

"Although it is not unusual to find headless or dismembered bodies by the roadside..."  What the heck kind of place is this that it would be normal to see these kinds of images?  Sick ppl and their rituals, there is a ritual for everything and it all come at the same price shedding human blood or blighting someone's path.  May the poor child's soul RIP.  He should have had the opportunity to live out his life and be somebody in the world.

Everything is possible in Naija. A pastor, what then can I say, who knows how long he has being in this business. I think both the pastor and his cohort deserve to rust in jail .

My worries is how pastors are turning to be criminals. Men of God supposed not to do that. Everyday you will hear or read a story, pastor did this, he did that. Too Bad!

Well, not just the pastors. Some Imams or sheikh are no exception. Corruption is everywhere. We only pray for the best.
