American rapper and music executive, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, known professionally as Diddy, has broken his silence following the release of footage by CNN showing him physically abusing his ex-girlfriend and singer, Cassie Ventura.
In a heartfelt video posted on his official Instagram page today, May 19, 2024, captioned “I’m truly sorry,” the rapper reflected on his actions and issued an apology to Cassie and the public.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy stated at the beginning of the video.
“I was f@cked up, I mean, I hit rock bottom. I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy, and ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he continued.
The video, posted 45 minutes ago at the time of this article, had already garnered over 57,000 comments.
The footage, released by CNN in the late hours of May 17, 2024, shows Diddy physically assaulting Cassie Ventura in the hallway of a hotel.
