LORD, WHERE ARE YOU? 2
Let us continue with the second part of our study; ?LORD, WHERE ARE YOU?? Last week, we considered faith building and patience so this week, let us consider a plan by God to show the world and Satan that you?re His. Do you know that God sees and treats us as the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8)? With that in mind, why is it like He is not near or hearing all our prayers? Could it be possible that you?re so close to God?s heart and that His defense over your life has made Satan to put up a challenge over you? Have you been that close to God that now everything is fallen apart? Go and study the book of Job. You?ll find out that poor Job did not know that God was boasting with his name before Satan (Job 1:8-12). During all the time that Job battled with his misfortune and sickness, he must have wondered about God?s where about because within him, he knew he tried doing everything right. As from Job chapters 38-41, God answered Job just as He would to you and me for not trusting Him enough.
Finally Job repented; ?1. Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 2. I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. 3. Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. 4. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 5. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. 6. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes (Job 42:1-6).?
We all know that Jesus while He was on earth loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus their brother. When Lazarus was sick and Jesus was sent for, did He come right away? Did He not know that Lazarus was going to die? But instead of coming to save Lazarus, Jesus stayed extra more days before going to Bethany. Listen to what Jesus said; ?When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby (John 11:4).? This Jesus is the same Lord we?re asking where is He. Read the entire chapter of John 11 and try to figure out why a friend (like Jesus) would not get up and rush to save His friend. Remember that He wept in verse 35.
Let us see how we?re not understanding what the Lord is telling us some times from His conversation with Martha; ?21. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 22. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. 23. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27. She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world (John 1121-27.? Jesus is saying, ?I am the Lord of now? and Martha is saying that she knows that Lazarus will rise during resurrection time. This is a lady that just confessed that she knows that God will do anything that Jesus asks of the Father. Not to think of her saying that if Jesus were to be there with them that Lazarus could not have died.
In the midst of all your anxieties and worries, are you on the same page with the Lord? Are you listening to what He is telling you with understanding? Remember that He choose you and not you that choose Him (John 15:16).
PRAYER POINT: Lord position me to be on the same page with you so that I may comprehend everything that you?re saying to me. Teach me to not only hear you, understand, but that I may follow your directives. Take away my understanding and replace it with yours. Finally work on me so that John 3:30 will take place fully in my life.
